Important Information
This information is for Newcomers AND Residents. Also see the *Who to Call page.
Some Royal Oaks regulations:
- The speed limit is 25 mph. Speed bumps are there for a reason. Slow down! Maryville Police are authorized to ticket speeders.
- Long-term or overnight parking is not permitted on our subdivision streets.
- Wednesday is our Trash pick-up day. Trash containers shall be placed at the curb for collection no earlier than 5:00 pm on the day before collection. (Also see Bulk Waste below.)
- Pets are not allowed to constitute a nuisance.
- All external structural changes must first be approved by the Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
- For other rules please see the Covenants & By-Laws and Policies page.
No Fishing is allowed in Royal Oaks' ponds. Sorry, no catch and release either. If you see someone fishing, call police dispatch on their non-emergency number: 865-983-3620; and they will have an officer ask the person to leave. Why all the fuss? Because the fish help keep our ponds clear of algae!

After getting appropriate approval/s, please call “811” Before you Dig. They will arrange to have your utility lines marked. This is a free service.
Backflow Inspections
The city of Maryville Water Quality Control Department does an annual inspection of residential lawn irrigation system backflow preventers, usually the first week of June. State and Federal regulations require that these devices are tested and inspected at least annually by the water department. Residents with irrigation systems are asked to have the backflow devices installed, de-winterized and operational up to at least the number two shutoff valve of the backflow device in order that the required annual tests may be conducted. Should the system not be operational, city inspectors will activate them and test, or make return trips for those devices not installed, which will result in re-inspection fees being charged to the customer’s utility account. Questions call the water dept. at 273-3304.
