2025 ROPOA Board Candidates

Dear Neighbors & Community Members,
My name is Alyssa Bridges, and I am honored to introduce myself as a passionate advocate for community engagement, leadership, and service. With a strong background in program management, public speaking, and nonprofit leadership, I have dedicated my career to fostering
connections and empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential.
As a servant leader, I believe in the power of collaboration and transparent communication. My approach is rooted in compassion, strategic planning, and an unwavering commitment to building thriving environments with a focus on people. Beyond my professional expertise, I am deeply involved in volunteer work and mentoring teens. From youth ministry to supporting community outreach projects, I strive to make a meaningful
impact wherever I can. My goal is always to create opportunities for growth, strengthen relationships, and inspire positive change.
I am originally from West Virginia, and my husband, Chris Bridges, was born and raised in Clinton, TN. Together, we have four children (two teens at home) and a silly weenie dog, Frankie. We love spending time outdoors, exploring nature, road trips, and living in a small town.
We also deeply cherish our neighbors and are committed to contributing positively to the future of Royal Oaks, helping to keep it a safe, beautiful, and family-friendly neighborhood that maintains a desirable reputation.
I am excited about the possibility of serving in a greater capacity within our community and look forward to working alongside dedicated individuals who share a vision. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute, and I welcome any discussions on how we can work together for a brighter future.
Warm regards,
Alyssa Bridges

Hello. I am a retired Registered Nurse and have spent all my adult life in service. I have worked in Critical Care, Home Care and as a Nurse Case Manager in Worker’s Compensation at Knoxville Utilities Board and Y-12. I have served as a Surveyor for the Joint Commission all over the country,
surveying the Veterans Administration Hospital System, monitoring quality of care against national standards. My career gave me the opportunity to serve on the Board and as Vice President, President and Director of the TN Home Medical Equipment Association. These last two affiliations were concurrent with my working in the healthcare industry. I, also, was a Vice President of Clinical Services for The Medical Management Group, Inc., a home health care consulting company. I have traveled around the world and lived in Scotland, as well as here in Royal Oaks for the last eleven years. Since my retirement, I have conducted several Scottish ancestral tours. I have volunteered for the American Eagle Foundation in Pigeon Forge, three mission trips (one domestic and two foreign), and currently volunteer at the Warming Center as a part of First United Methodist Church.
Even though this all sounds very busy, I have also raised two fine sons, have two wonderful daughters-in-law and three adorable grandchildren! I look forward to the opportunity to serve as your representative on the ROPOA Board.

Andy Notbohm has 25 years of experience leading Naval and Commercial nuclear power plant operation, and in supporting Department of Energy missions. While in the Navy, Andy was a weapons officer on a guided missile cruiser (Yokosuka, Japan), engineer on two nuclear powered aircraft carriers (Norfolk, Virginia), and an instructor of Naval Science at the University of Michigan.
After separating from the Navy, Andy spent 5 years in commercial nuclear plant operations. Since then, Andy has worked at two power utilities with roles of increasing responsibility in organizational development, operational excellence, and cultural & process transformation. In his current role, Andy leads the development and deployment of capabilities that support
Department of Energy nuclear security, environmental, defense, and commercial missions across the nation. Andy earned a BS in English from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University, a MA in Organizational Leadership
and a MA in Communications from Gonzaga University, and several professional certifications.
Andy enjoys aquatic activities and travelling with his wife (Andrea), daughter (Katie), and son (Connor). Andy volunteers extensively with Scouting America.
As a prospective board member, Andy will focus on providing a safe, enjoyable, and cost effective community. One specific goal is to influence the revision of covenants to establish basic standards while enabling home owners to have greater control over their property; and to move the association into an oversight role. The second goal is to lead the partnership among the association and local governments to make necessary changes to have maintenance of common areas the responsibility of the city and, ultimately, reduce dues burdens on all residents.

Amy Wojtal - My husband Michael and I moved here in March 2024 with our furry family member Nala (21 pound cat). The three of us were Illinois Natives but found the winters to be a little too long for our liking. We absolutely love Tennessee and the neighborhood. We have three grown boys between the two of us and are “adopted” grandparents through a woman I have mentored since she was 9 (now 26). Why would anyone actively campaign for a volunteer HOA Board position? Excellent question. I have been elected to serve as the secretary for Legacy Villas HOA. I served on the board for a Condo Association in Joliet, IL as well as two non-profit boards. I have been employed as an HR professional for 15 years for an IL Company. I have had the opportunity through mergers and acquisitions to set up benefit plans, payroll, policies, etc. for several plants over the years. In addition, I have had the opportunity to facilitate conflict resolution meetings. Prior experience as an Administrative Assistant gave me valuable experience such as project management, contract negotiation, cost control, and event coordination. I have a bachelor’s degree in business management.
Attributes I bring to the table include:
• Transparency – I believe knowledge is power and homeowners should be armed with all the information necessary to make an educated vote.
• Curiosity – Always looking for new ways to increase our property values while decreasing our overall costs.
• Serving – I always have a desire to help people and make sure people are heard.
• Understanding – I understand that I cannot always make everyone happy, and I may not become popular in the community because of board decisions.
• Fairness – I will uphold the covenants and bylaws. I feel that our covenants are there to maintain our home values, and they should not be difficult to understand or implement. These covenants are in place to ensure everyone has the same rules to follow. I had experience where the covenants were upheld depending on how well the President knew or liked you. I do not think this is an effective way to run any organization and leads to more confusion/animosity.
• I am a fast learner and solve problems in unique ways every single day.

Susan Weeks Bio (updated Feb. 22,2025)

Jim and I purchased our home in Royal Oaks in 2014 as our retirement home. We moved here from Ohio with Sadie (a Chihuahua) and love it.

I am willing to listen to all sides of a discussion.  I shall reach out to the community and make myself available to you.  I put the needs of the community above what may be best for me as an individual.  I believe all people should be treated with respect and have their concerns addressed. I believe in sharing information with our homeowners as it comes, not waiting until a few times of the year.  I believe that if you are not happy with something, then work to change it. I bring a positive attitude and commitment to continuously upholding the community standards while seeing the need to change and expand.  I shall work diligently for the Royal Oaks Community.

I have worked in many occupations in addition to 36 years with the Federal Government as a Computer Systems Analyst and Security officer.  I spent several years traveling the world and teaching our Allies to interface with our military.  I also have been a village council member and mayor before moving here.  I started work as a Deputy Auditor for the county. I am well versed in how a Board serves it constituents.

Most recently, I have a proven track record at Seniors for Creative Learning as treasurer and curriculum board member.  I excel in nonprofit management and bank relationship management, showcasing strong teamwork and cash flow optimization. My experience spans reducing operational expenses and enhancing financial strategies, demonstrating my ability to lead with integrity and drive impactful results.

Equipped with strong problem-solving abilities, willingness to learn, and excellent communication skills. I am poised to contribute to team success and achieve positive results. I am ready to tackle new challenges and advance organizational objectives with dedication and enthusiasm.
